25 January 2012:  Westlife are heading on tour in China next month - and the concerts are set to earn them millions before they bring an end to the band.

Singer Kian Egan has revealed they are planning a 15 date tour around China in venues which can fit in around 15,000 fans.

Tickets for the concerts cost between €34 to €205 in the country which is currently enjoying an economic boom. And the Chinese tour could potentially earn over €20 million.

"We were there last year and did four arenas of 15,000 each. They were great gigs. This time around, weíll be doing 15 shows and the arenas are the same size, so it's amazing.

"We broke through there with 'You Raise Me Up' which was in 2005 and 2006. We hadn't been back till last year but this is a phenomenal set up.

"The language barrier doesn't seem to make any difference - they still sing the words to all the songs," he told Hot Press.

There are currently seven concerts scheduled according to Chinese entertainment websites in Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Chengdu and Guangzhou.

Venues on their agenda include the 18,000 capacity MasterCard center in Beijing and the 10,000 seater Grand Stage in Shanghai.

The band took part in an international tour last year which started in Namibia in September and brought them to China, the Philippines, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam.

Westlife's Farewell tour in this part of the world kicks off in London's O2 arena in May and it will bring them around the UK to all the major cities including Cardiff, Birmingham and Glasgow. The tour also includes five nights in Belfast's Odyssey Arena before they head to Croke Park in Dublin for two massive concerts. Their last scheduled date is currently the 23rd of June in Croke Park which is sold out.

The band currently have no plans to play Sligo and would love to play another concert there after a successful gig at Lissadell House.

Shane Filan recently said: "We all would love nothing more than to play Sligo on the tour !!...but no plans as yet unfortunately."
